Aiva, the Act One portfolio company that created the world’s first patient-centered voice assistant for hospitals, is now being used in over 100 rooms at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.
Using an Amazon Echo Dot, patients can make general requests like changing a TV channel or asking for nurse assistance — all hands-free. Once a request is sent, the appropriate person is contacted immediately. If they do not respond, Aiva sends the request to the next person in the chain of command. It’s as convenient and easy as the way Echo Dot and Alexa are used in people’s homes.
