With unemployment at a 49-year low, restaurant chains are finding it so difficult to attract and retain employees that they’re now offering workers access to their earnings before payday. Many of these workers live paycheck to paycheck and need access to cash more often than every two weeks, which is the standard payday cycle.

With Branch Pay, a company can offer its hourly workers access to some of their earnings as soon as the day after a shift is completed. Branch is used by major chains like Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. One franchisee who operates 12 Pizza Hut locations said the perk is so important that he might use it in help-wanted ads.
